Totally celtic perfect setting… with a modern hint of Kate Bush sensibility to it. But to compare is to diminish the creativity of this…. it really is like nothing else I’ve heard with celtic before.

thanks man, yeah its a weird one, jumped from 6/8 to 4/4, wasn’t sure if it worked. I’ve been pretty busy and I kept saying to myself that I was gonna get around to remixing this…finally had a chance.

An interesting co-existence of traditional and electro/glitch. As if it were specifically designed to upset the purists. Which I am not. I like it.

Haha, nice. Yeah, I think I’ve upset many purists over the years. I have been on the other side too though. It’s nice to hear a traditional world piece or Latin or some real roots reggae. Of course it’s more fun to mash it up.
It’s funny too how people think that globalization and remix culture kills culture and tradition but it actually sustains it.

Thanks, I’m glad you think those transitions work, I was a little unsure. The piano stays in 6/8 while the drums go into 4/4, but I guess that’s what Celtic is all about …weaving.

Great transformation of the song! Are you interested in getting the right to use a cc-by or cc-by-sa license for this song, so it can (semi-auto) participate in the FreeMixter?

P.S.
This if of course the catch of the day. :)

Awesome. Downloaded. I love fusion/genre-mashing… all that. It excites my ears. Invigorates. Also, it’s good to hear a new one from ya’… I was wondering about you just yesterday.

I Like CSOUL said. I like the way you flipped this. Electro Celt, that has to be a first.
Very well done.

Ah ah big fun (and funnier than Kate Bush!). This is what I call a “remix”, and the spirit of ccmixter itself: take something, break into pieces, reassembling in many different ways, glitching, experimenting fxs and producing cross-genre music. I like it, I also understand why Speck likes it!

This is really spectacular Jeris! I have to agree with the Kate Bush and Celtic feel and the other choices instrument choices too.

OK, so I finally listened to some Kate Bush, definitely hear the similarity. I had heard the name before but never any of the music. It’s amazing how I could miss something like that, saw that she has performed with Peter Gabriel and all.

She’s a little….eccentric. Nothin wrong with that : )
