Absolutely superb! Amazing emotional depth. On the surface such a simple minimalist remix by your standards, but actually loaded with detail, subtlety and nuance. An instant favorite of mine - even amongst many LS favorites!

Man.

Years ago I used to make tapes and CD’s of music I liked. I’d group them according to mood. And this tune is a perfect candidate for a series of CD’s I made for myself called ‘Rainy Day Music’ (all apologies to Eric Burdon & WAR…). Just a beautiful, somber piece for those quiet overcast rainy days that I love so well. Beautifully done….

P.S. I’m wishing for some rainy days for California real soon.

I have received my copy of the Calendar Songs cd this week and was once more reminded of how good your take on May is. Not all of her choices would have been mine, but that’s all down to personal taste. But The Fire remains one of my favourites from all the remixes I have heard (and although I haven’t heard them all, I still have listened to quite a lot of them). You seem to have captured a melancholic undertone present in her original piece and made it the focus of your remix. And that, more than the original piece, made me look forward to remixing it myself.

LS
this is one of my personal faves of the Calendar girl mixes…really great atmosphere…light rain falling, walking through lonely streets…wonderful tones and musical embellishments envelop the listener….

Wonderful! Of course, I had to include this track in the latest episode of The Mixin’ Kitchen “Red Hot Fire.”
