Tools I Used

audacity (to cut up some loops) & ableton live (to do the rest)

Samples I Used

i just used cibelle's crammed/ccmixter loops. No other loops nor VSTi's where used. A real cut-up (Burroughs style).

Original Samples

No original sample, only loops of cibelle's noite de carnaval.

Process

First i cut up some short loops on audacity and then i worked on them on ableton live. The voice 'scratch' is made using Live's "Time Warp" and "Sample Offset" functions.

Other Notes

In 2003 I started a M.Sc. in audio engineering trying to develop a Sound Source Separation Method to get parts of great songs and remix them. Now that i'm almost finishing it (in a very specific Frequency Refinement area) i see that there won't be a good quality technique to separate sound sources.
I'm very glad to see great artists like Cibelle and DJ Dolores offering their loops for everyone to mix. I think this is the way!!! Hopefully other artists follow your steps. Congrats, felaiuki.
