Uses samples from:

Tools I Used

Host: OpenMPT
Plug-ins:
"JCM900" from SimulAnalog's "Guitar Suite" (overdrive/distortion)
XT Software's "Machine II" (percussion patterns)
Audiosonic's "DigiDrum Pro" (extra drums)"
Synth1" (pad near the end)
E-Phonic's "LO-FI" (filtering in the end)
Audacity was used for normalizing the final version and for cutting out percussion bits.

Samples I Used

Bass/guitar sample - "Pick Bass Type 2" from the "Naturally Decaying B-Guitars" SoundFont (search for it on HammerSound.net). It's available for downloading for free.
Other samples are from the "Natchoongi (Loops)" file provided for the Salman Ahmad contest.

Process

I downloaded these samples a long time ago, before I read that the contest participants should be older than 15 years (and I only had my 14th birthday not a long time ago). They were lying right there when I suddenly realized that I could still do a remix no matter what my age is. I don't need a label contract anyway...
So I went to OpenMPT and did it. I took out percussion bits from the percussion loops and made my own rhythms with Machine II (like I did with Nine Inch Nails multi-tracks before), then loaded the ready guitar loops. Added a few basslines, and then did a bit variations with drums, distortion, and filtering... I finally learned how to use portamento effects in the IT format, so I managed to do some pretty cool bass grooves along the way. I found out that the bass sample sounds like an electric guitar at higher frequencies, so I did a nasty outro using it and a guitar feedback sample.

Other Notes

I seem to like making ugly, noisy and distorted music with a melody underneath. Go figure...
Thought of including echoed vocal samples, but I like doing instrumentals too much.
