Oscar’s whale songs have connected me to the mysterious world below in an entirely new way. My heart is floating beneath the surface as I hear their song, their call, their warning to us all.

The wisdom of the whales is beyond our understanding. Humans are quick to belittle the things they think they know (but do not understand).

I’m unsure how, but I believe an evolved world is possible. Humanity must change. We could reinvent ourselves and give the oceans clean, healthy space to recover. We could value all life.

We each have so much to heal.

Perhaps we could be, as Whitman says, beings that walk other spheres. Dimensions we haven’t yet imagined.

Thank you to Kara for calling the sirens and for your foundational Rhodes and emotive vocal tracks.

My pad and bvox stems are uploaded here and the Whitman poem is HERE.

Thank you again Oscar! Your work is extraordinary. What a gift you’ve given us.

World Below the Brine
by Walt Whitman

The world below the brine,
Forests at the bottom of the sea, the branches and leaves,
Sea-lettuce, vast lichens, strange flowers and seeds, the thick tangle, openings, and pink turf,
Different colors, pale gray and green, purple, white, and gold, the play of light through the water,
Dumb swimmers there among the rocks, coral, gluten, grass, rushes, and the aliment of the swimmers,
Sluggish existences grazing there suspended, or slowly crawling close to the bottom,
The sperm-whale at the surface blowing air and spray, or disporting with his flukes,
The leaden-eyed shark, the walrus, the turtle, the hairy sea-leopard, and the sting-ray,
Passions there, wars, pursuits, tribes, sight in those ocean-depths, breathing that thick-breathing air, as so many do,
The change thence to the sight here, and to the subtle air breathed by beings like us who walk this sphere,
The change onward from ours to that of beings who walk other spheres.
