It’s hard to believe I’ve been steering the ccMixter ship for 10 years! At this time 10 years ago, I was filled with great excitement — at the opportunity to help shepherd our community and CC licensed music into its next chapter.

Looking back at who I was as a person takes an honest lens. I had a good heart with all of the right intentions, but many of my flaws and mistakes are so obvious to me now. I’ve worked to grow and evolve since then — and I’ve learned there is always a new mountain to climb. 10 years from now, I imagine I’ll be able to see myself even more clearly.

I wrote “Good Intentions” by referencing Spinmeister’s oh so very awesome samples “ Techno Twang” from 2009. HERE is my remix.

I’m so grateful to our community — you’ve taught me so much. I’ve learned how important it is to let go of the need to control, and the incredible magic that happens through collaboration.

May the next 10 years be as inspiring as these past 10. Peace!

Naïveté how I explain my good intentions
For my mistakes

Journeyed to hell but returned today
Just to say there’s no time to waste on mere on good intentions

I uttered a promise standing on her grave
To bury my grief seeds and grow from the pain
