Hi there,

Does anyone know what is the procedure if the composer of the music i used in my video is missing?

I need to get permission to use it and attribute it properly but seems like the composer is missing. What should i do?

Please help!

I am not sure where you are from.

They cover the situation in the States nicely.

Canada provides a licensing scheme for orphan works.

IANAL and mileage may vary by location.

1. Do NOT take legal advice from a forum on the web

2. Do NOT use material in any form that you don’t have permission to do so.

I would suggest starting by checking out your government copyright office:
http://www.ipos.gov.sg/main...

They offer a program to get your questions answered by IP professionals:

If they cannot answer your concerns, your best bet is to contact an advocate who is licensed to handle those legal matters in your location. (Contacting a legal professional regarding questions of law is always a good idea.)

Good luck finding the information you require!

Again, IANAL and I would recommend speaking to a legal professional.
