What are the criteria for deciding the featured Mixters?

Think of it as the equivalent to ‘staff recommendations’ at your local bookstore.

It’s not very scientific at all, but ‘community participation’ does play a large role: leaving lots of reviews, participating in forum discussions, remixing other mixters (!!), uploading lots of samples for others to gnaw on — and of course, getting a couple 4/5* reviews in a row definitely seems to help. We also pay close attention to suggestions from other Mixters — several were considered after being nominated by peers.

Plus we try to mix up styles as well, rather than it be all folks who upload ‘experimental’ or all hiphop we hope to keep the list varied since many visitors seem to reach for the ‘featured’ list as a starting point.

Feel free to nominate anyone you think the staff has overlooked.
