Hi,
we’re two guys who started a musical project and wish to make their track available for use in various multimedia projects (CC BY license). Would be possible for us to upload our full and mixed track to ccmixter.org and make it available to all its users? Because we already noticed the “submit files” in the artists section of the site, but we couldn’t find a section to upload a full track. We only managed to find the section for uploading samples, and other different stuff. Thank you in advance for the attention LaMa |

Hi Lama,
Welcome to ccMixter! We’re glad you joined us :) ccMixter is intended as a collaborative website, and musicians are encouraged to share the separated parts of their songs (stems) so that other musicians can remix them and/or add to them. We discourage users from uploading full mixes because there is no way of separating the different parts and adjusting the levels for a remix. Full mixes aren’t necessarily unusable, but they greatly limit how much can be done with them. There are over a hundred active, incredibly accomplished musicians/producers who would love to remix and/or add to your music — I encourage you to give it a try and see what you think. All you need to do is upload as many of the separated channels as you are willing to share as .FLAC files (or mp3s) and as long as each of them are under 50g they can be added to your upload for other users to remix. It’s a win-win situation when you share the stems for your songs: you get exposure as an artist, and other artists get the opportunity to collaborate with you! If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to ask — we’re here to help :) Kind regards, Apoxode |
