How to "credit" this?

While a work in progress… this http://www.youtube.com/watc... is a (private, for now) opening signature to identify our little amateur film unit. Although we’re self-funded, volunteers we work to very high standards and believe that everyone deserves proper credit. User: “_ghost” in this case.
What’s the best way to credit _Ghost here? I know we’re only using 7 seconds of a much longer track, but it fits well; and we’re likely to use it on several productions that we have on right now. We’re hoping to use CCMixter music across the whole range of titles to get new musicians out there to a wider audience. |

Each upload page includes a link that tells you how to properly credit using the license.
Even when using a snippet of material, the artists involved in the music must be given credit wherever the music is used, and wherever possible a link to the song must be posted. Here is an example of a youtube video that has proper attribution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcsQc1LWfd4. Hope this helps. |

It helps a bit yeah, but it’s not really the sort of thing I can put on a movie credit; although we’re releasing to Youtube, the primary source will be via DVD/VOD and there’s a long tradition of crediting music as I’m sure you know. Although it’s possible to use such a long attribution it’s not really practical and it’s long winded - that’s my difficultly with CC in general. “Time Has Come” by SackJo22 (feat. Unreal_DM, Haskel) - featured on CCMixter.org Completes the attribution with a nod to CCMixter, does it not? Everything else is superfluous since people can’t access hyperlinks and won’t care about CC licensing as much as you or I. It’s important to note that on a 10 minute film, we might be using dozens of CC samples and we just don’t have the credits time to list them all in such detail. On a 90+ min film, people won’t read them unless they are brief. |
