In a few words ..
1) i made a song with a singer uploaded here.(a cappellas) 2) i sent to a record label the demo. 3) they accepted the work and wants to publish it . Now i’m in trouble with copyrights laws , burocracy .. etc. The vocal is (BY-NC) obviously , the song create with this pella it’s (BY-NC) the Record label wants a copyrighted work , and I have to register on SIAE (like ASCAP on US) but I haven’t rights on lyrics . Somebody know the procedure to apply , to let a song (by-NC) become commercial? PS . Djlang , Before bother you , I made a public general post here , I contact you in a few days . Thanks in advance . I can help you with this Steavy. it’s kinda of my job at ArtisTech Media ;-)
To start, you need to contact the pella artist and let them know about your opportunity, and get their permission to license your mix for commercial use. Also, I can introduce you to a friend of mine who can guide you through the process of getting representation for you both so the record label is happy and can move forward with the project. ArtisTech has released several digital compilations and licensed the music for them from ccMixter artists. Let me know what I can do to help out. |
