Nine to five eternity… nobody dreams of responsibility… great lyrics, all, and perfectly set to your usual high standards of song crafting.

Wow! I love the full production you’ve brought to this. Great work as usual and thanks for doing the honor to my work.
I have to ask though - did you time shift the vocals of the first verse on purpose? It was odd to me at first, of course, but after my initial prejudice it actually still works pretty well. But when I noticed that you didn’t also time shift the vocals on the 2nd verse I thought the 1st verse might have been an accident. Regardless, this is still great all-around and thank you again! |

Thanks Clarence,
I had to check this by putting your original track against my remix. It all is in sync up until bar 49 (the beginning of the first chorus) I have removed two bars at that point and that is the only change to the lead vocal track. Generally that is what I do, try to make the backing fit the vocals rather than the other way around. Great melody and lyrics - thanks for uploading. |

Maybe I’m not explaining well. In the original, the first beat of the chord progression (the G chord) comes on the word “car” in the first verse and “what I can” in the second verse.
And in this remix, the first beat of the second verse lines up with “what I can” like the original, but the first beat of the first verse doesn’t line up with the word “car”. All of the first verse vocals are actually one measure later than the backing track (when compared to the original). I hope I’m making sense. I have no problem with creative interpretations (and I think this interpretation works), but it sounds like that’s not what you were trying to do. And if that’s the case, I’d love to hear this re-uploaded with the first verse vocals lined up like the original. :) |

Excellent remix of one of my favorite songs on ccM…can hardly even call this a remix. Sounds like you guys just locked yourselves in the studio and wrote this together.
