Very nicely done. Is it wrong of me to find the lyrics (it’s been a long day as a source of the blues) rather amusing? Reminded me of this.

You opined, “Is it wrong of me to find the lyrics (it’s been a long day as a source of the blues) rather amusing?”
Not wrong. We were amused by the source of the lyrics as well. We have been amused by many sources of the blues and lyrics/music claiming a blues pedigree. We’ve observed many blues songs written by locals mimic the amusing Martin Mull approach. Tangent: In this remix, Patricia Edwards’ story amusingly reminded me of my years on the chitlin circuit where many soulful and sincerely square singers sang out whatever was on their mind over a chord progression sourced from da blues. Was amusingly compelled by nostalgia to use the pell. Observation about the overloaded term blues: Irrespective of how soulful or sincerely square the music and lyrics, we are often reminded that the reason we can easily cut, paste and remix so many samples and pells is due to the underlying common blues structures. Humor: Often cited humor about blues storytelling here. |
