This is incredible! It’s got a Jack Dangers vibe to it that elevates the spirit. Well done!

I think this is the second time someone’s mentioned Jack Dangers to me. Must admit I was not aware of him, so I just did some tubing. Very cool stuff. Thanks. For the comparison and for getting me to hear something new (to me).

No problem! With his MBM stuff, it’s so versatile, you both have a similar approach to blending material.

Gotta dig Speck with a beat.

While Larry Young (aka Khalid Yasin) was an accomplished jazz and studio session artist, he was, for a time, a pioneer in early electronic music. As often noted, a lot of your work reminds me of Larry Young’s electronic music.

Tangent: As a very young Hammond organ player in training during the pre-synthesizer era, players like Jimmy Smith and Larry Young illuminated a well loved jazz style that was disappointingly absent from the chitlin circuit generating the Benjamins when it was my turn to work.

I must admit that despite by love of playing jazz, latin, R&B and rock Hammond B3, I embraced synthesizer and electric pianos with a passions and never looked back. Hence, my appreciation for Larry Young.
