I did burst out laughing actually but not to ridicule but because this is so f**king excellently, darkly, funny. And accurate. I love it - love your cool, spare voice and the unflinching honesty. I took out a few lines from my ‘oldie’ song (about sagging, flaking, smelling - nice things like that) but you’ve done it so much better without going over the top. I’m sure mixers will jump on this. Do more.

let’s see what’ll come of it - but why the not safe for work bit? perhaps because it may not fit into the corporate world of unconditional optimism with its action point agenda?

ah well, shit is quite frequent in europe, particularly in the part that’s commonly referred to as The Continent

It’s pretty common here too but I think it still qualifies as ‘not safe for work’, whatever that means. I don’t know why they don’t just say something like ‘may contain offensive language’. To me ‘not safe for work’ means something like a front-end loader with a frayed hydraulic hose.

if i played music at work loud enough for others to hear they might get annoyed and that might not be safe for me - they wouldn’t be offended though if i say ‘same shit, different day’ as it would be true

In my country “shit” is frequently used as a positive enhancer. For instance shit good means very good and shit-nice weather, very good weather. Foreigners are usually very amused. We’re a bit primitive up here in northern Europe. After all we we were still dragging around our women in their hair in our caves at the times when the romans were eating grapes on their couches in thier palaces so it’s pretty natural that we’re still lacking a bit of linguistic elegance and cultural finesse.

Isn’t Lars Von Trier from your part of the world? Just saw Melancholia. Wow, what a beautiful work of art that is. And no doubt lead to these humble musings of mine on inevitability.

Well he’s Danish. Our arch enemies for half a millennium. We’re still not recovered since Stockholm Bloodbath.

Sorry. On the map it just looks like you’re neighbors. I don’t have much of a sense of nationalism. Probably because the lines in the sand I was born within house an invader rather than an invadee.

We’re friends with Lars and his countrymen now and on a serious note I’m a big fan of Lars’ work like you.

It’s a true joy that the producers are coming out as singers one after another. To me it seems you’ve got two voices, one quite tender that’s hidden behind the husky other. Would love to hear more of the tender half. It’s probably just a matter of singing louder. Anyway, numerous compliments.

Lyrically- I just love this. Vocally- your voice reels me in. It makes me think of how I feel about Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes)… (one of my favorite singer-songwriters). There’s just this emotional quality in your voice… in it’s realness… that makes me pay close attention to your words. This is a compliment. Thank you for sharing this… I hope to hear more of your voice and words.
