Hello, this is one of your biggest fans. Been busy lately and realize I have some catching up of your mixes to do. With this one, I must admit, I got so curious to hear your voice, I downloaded your pellas and listened to them before I even listened to the mix. I think you should be proud of them. The music? The samples goes great together. A seamless dreamy river-ish mix with your voice just adding to the sense of a cool mountain current. This is good music.

Although in this case it’s mostly the uber-reverb I’m not proud of. I think eventually I’ll get used to hearing my own voice from the other side of my skull. Thanks for the encouragement.

I’m in! Altough I don’t think other people will enjoy the fact I dare to sing in public.

I dare to call this art. Really great!

I think the guitar player might disagree. Check out this forum entry.

Actually, in this case I do agree.
I admit that the style is not where my tastes tend to lean, and truth be told, I think some of the viola parts detract from the song a little (purely my humble opinion of course)… but I can still appreciate the effort that went into crafting this and making sure all the layers complemented each other. I can hear the work you put into this one. Non-traditional? Definitely. But do I have a problem calling this art? No. :) |

A really well worked acoustic-focused piece that still recognizably has your footprint on it. It has melody and purpose, but just enough rebellion against musical convention to not be a a parlour piece.

I do rather like this. I kept wondering though whether it was going to go somewhere else. And then it ended. And I am in the same place I started.
And now it’s evening and it’s cold outside and I wish I could go back inside but I can’t. So to speak. |

So. I’ve been ‘Specked’. I consider that a milestone here in ccMixter! :)

Of your remixes that I’ve heard (which admittedly isn’t that many) I think I may actually like this one best of all… and not just because I feel like I’m surrounded by a dozen of myself. ;)
I particularly enjoyed the first half of the song before the viola comes in. Very pretty dreamscape kinda stuff with all the layers of sound that end up meshing together better than I would expect. The whole thing makes me feel like I’m sitting in a theater listening to the orchestra warming up before a musical or a concert. Thanks for the remix! |

I love the vocal parts you created. And in this casethe reverb works well.

I love that you sang for this track. It’s nice to hear your voice within your voice. Once again your use of consonance and dissonance suggests exploration of relationship and feeling.

I like the musical texture of the layers, the vocal sound and the dissonance. This is very relaxing to listen to.
