This has potential to be a better song. However, I am having a hard time getting past the over-maximization. More dynamics would be good.

i agree. maybe someone else will make it better.

i don’t know what you mean. put it in layman’s terms.

Some artists like to make their mixes louder by adding compression or a maximizer to the finished mix. A little compression is ok, however too much will make your mixes mushy and non-dynamic. Famous Mastering tech Bob Ludwig calls it the “loudness wars”, where artists are continually trying to make their songs louder than the next.
I am not sure what you are using to create/mix your songs, however there must be some way to turn down your final mix to allow more dynamics to occur. |

I see. I figured out the problem, so thanks a lot for pointing that out. I have a limiter set on the master track, so while it doesn’t redline, it still has that miximized quality to it. I’ll have to adjust the volume manually instead of being lazy. I’m sure future mixes will sound a lot better too, so thanks again.

Interesting song. I second the comments that darkroom said. Some tricks I allways use if I get dynamics problems are: Dropping all the faders to zero and then open them in order of importance or I use volume automation.
But I like it, took me a while before figured out that you used my drums. |

a lot of my friends and acquaintances i knew were into heroin. i always said, you’ll either end up dead, homeless, or in jail.
in the end, you can only change yourself though, and pray i guess for others. sort of like that jewel song. |
