believe me, i’m just an ardent admirer of feminine talent when & wherever it may be manifested. her Ciggness sounds like she may have spent some time in N.Y. & Chi-town. and i’d walk to the U.K. to work on a track with her. was i too forthright?

no, no,it’s just my british sense of humour! (anyway, that’s a lot of water for you to walk over…)
Seriously, both of us would be honoured to work with you, anytime.

Many years ago before the wanderlust got into my bones and I left the UK to travel the globe there was nothing better than a Sunday afternoon at home.

I would put the radio on, tune to Radio 2 and listen to the Benny Green show. As I peeled and chopped food for the evenings Sunday dinner and started to inhale the aromas of roasting beef and Yorkshire pudding the music Mr Green would play would take me to another place.

This wonderful piece of work took me back to that time as this was the type of music he would play.

Now the food I mainly eat is held with two sticks and roast beef sadly plays no part. Also sadly Benny is no longer with us so thank you OD for giving me a little of the past in such a great tune and performance.

yes I remember those Sundays with the RB and YP - don’t remember Benny Green tho, must have been too busy listening to ‘I’m sorry I haven’t a Clue’.

Thanks for listening.

Someday…when I (undoubtedly)finally get all kinds of wealth, glamour, etc.- there will eventually occur some ultra-chic dinner date, somewhere outrageously expensive, with someone gorgeous and intelligent.

It just wouldn’t be the same, if you two weren’t performing this live :-)

Cannot believe you’ve been hiding her all this time! Fantastic and like it has been said before, very evocative of times gone by. Welcome Ciggi!

I listened to the ‘pella first, and imagined different blues treatments for it, so it’s a pleasant tang of tangerine to hear this smooth, jazz-pop treatment, with its keyboards and its rises and falls and bass and 1960s feeling of graceful clubbing. As with all musical preconceptions, this reveals more about me, and my notion that we’re going to be in southern blues territory, only to find we’ve gone all uptown, and placed this one in a far sleeker place. Well done, all ‘round.

This feels almost like an intimate moment being shared in the middle of a crowded ballroom. Beautiful and sexy!

OD and CB = champagne and cavier — sweet, salty, tasty, sophisticated and a divine delicacy. (I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this previously — so sorry darlings.)
