I think that music-boxy celeste melody is always a fun way to get a song started, particularly when the lyric is a lullaby. I Like the hymn-like rise of the brass band, as if we’re in one of those cool small movies from the early 1960s.
The brass band really works very well in this mix. Narva’s voice is well-served by this mix (and in turn works well in its own right).

I like that in remix culture one need not be so conventional about one’s approaches to things, so that a celeste can give rise to a brass band and it all not only does not seem odd, but instead seems entirely right. A sousa-like martial rapid snare would not be out of place to segue into the last section, but then it would be my idea rather than your song, and I trust your song instincts more than my ideas on this. A surprising and interesting mix, with the brass accompaniment working in a really cool way.

Good idea - but it might wake the baby!

Very touching; were there an oldDog concert, anyone still talking when the music started would be dragged outside and beaten!

this is quite evocative- reminds me a bit of older tom waits in the arrangement, and has a southern (united states style) spiritual feel to it. lovely simple tones to the voice, of course, as always.

I was stunned. I spent a week in the magic kingdom and I can honestly say that this would have seamlessly fit in any number of their productions. Your arrangement is breathtaking. I loved the soft muted brass and the sleepy music box feel. I am a huge fan of Gershwin, Porgy & Bess, and Summertime….and your mix has the same warm southern feel and sense of drama.

Thank you for everything :)

Beautiful, I didnt read the tags so was suprised when the brass band came in, wasnt expecting that at all, fits perfectly though.
Funny how people hear things differently, Kaer Trouz-southern US Spiritual, me-Welsh mining town.
Beautiful and well played again.

Yes it’s interesting that I’ve had a few people finding a Southern feel in my mixes lately - don’t know what secret genetic link is coming out there - but I probably did have more of a British brass band sound in my head, not that I’ve ever written for one.

I remember a silver band when I was in Wales as a kid, playing I’m For Ever Blowing Bubbles over and over at a village beauty pageant :)

Thanks for the comment.

Really touching.. it’s already a popular hymn for me. So nice, so beautiful…and i love this brasss band..this melancholy atmosphere.
