another thought-provoking tuneful offering from one of my fave singer/songwriters. you always delight & never disappoint. (great idea to upload your samples as wav. files!)

.
In person, I would surely blush at such kind, supportive words… Thank you, panu. It’s extra, EXTRA nice as I respect and enjoy your songwriting intensely.

To be recognised and respected shouldn’t be too much to ask, ever. You have a unique ‘voice’ in every sense of that word. Everything you do is stamped with quality because you are a special and especially talented person. Just another truly excellent song to add to your catalogue - I can’t wait to watch you rise and rise.

.
Ahhh… thank you so much for your support, dear Ciggi. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have folks out there who appreciate what I do. You and panu made my night.

A simplicity of interpretation, but with much feeling in the voice.
I think we can do great things with it. A cry of internal revolt …. against indifference, against the difference also ….. I really like. Votre talent est à multi Facettes. |
.
Thank you so much, VickyDan. You definitely understand the feelings I was trying to convey… it feels good to be understood. Your super-kind compliments are very appreciated.

I agree with panu, you never disappoint, and you are really GREAT at writing, and your voice is extremely pleasant to me.
The harmony “my love” is terrific! I started singing along at the 2nd chorus. myyy loooo-ve… i love it. |
.
Well, thank you, thank you, and thank you! It delights me that the harmony part stood out. I did a whole harmony track for this one and only liked the “my love” parts… I’ve actually messed with this track for over a month… re-sang it a handful of times…

Just heard TheDICE’s mix. Mighty fine. Couldn’t help wondering why I hadn’t heard this before. Turns out for some reason (malfunction in the apparatus?) I didn’t get a notification of your last two uploads. Guess I gotta pay closer attention to the new uploads list. Anyway… great stuff. Thoughtful, personal, important. And such clean sound too.
|
.
Thank ya’… You know, I’ve had some notification issues, too. I’ll e-mail the Admin’s and see if anyone knows what’s up.
This song was one of those that took months to write… I had a lot of parts that were more general (statistics and such about rights denied), but it turned out that the personal stuff just mattered more. It’s the feeling that hurts most… and most needed conveyed. (Of course, I suppose that’s generally true…) Thanks again, Speck. |

Kara this is great (ukulele version is so catchy). Really. I’ve heard this in my head about hour and some people start to ask me what i’m crooning.
|
.
:D Thank you, Jacob. I try to write my songs in a catchy way, so it’s always nice to hear that it’s successful. Your comment also validates my thought of keeping this particular song simple (just uke and vox) for the album I’m working on.

I feel you Kara… Luckily we have each other and all of these other wonderful human beings [like the ones at ccmixter] to help us pull through it with worldly emanating love and good vibe. This song hits home - really moved me. Almost like you took the words out my mouth. You should try and share it with the GLBT community… hmmm…wow… deep. Thanks for that :-)
|
.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, Hektor. Knowing that people like the folks of ccMixter exist definitely fills me with hope. Now we’ve just got to spread the love! :) I agree- I’ll have to share it… any specific ideas/places that you think I should approach?

First heard this on the Transitions and Transformations Mixter. Beautiful song, delicately put, heart-stopping honest and catchy too.
It’s a shame and a scandal that this song has to exist at all. I wish we lived in a society where the issue did’t even come up. |
.
Thank you so much, Quarkstar. I am sooo with you… it really is surreal that this is still an issue at all.
