I keep liking, so much, this new and melodic Duckett. very Phoenixy, mon ami.

Thanks; I’m not consciously attempting to steer my remixes in a particular direction, but it’s always good to know I haven’t inadvertently strayed horribly off-course ;-)
Merci beaucoup…

More great stuff from you, while I am still struggling with one and the same song. And it’s all in the details, starting with the bpm of the song.

Thanks, always glad to see I’m not simply indulging myself, heh- BTW, if whatever you’re working on is driving you too crazy, feel free to email me; I’m not the most expert remixer around by far, but sometimes an outsider’s point of view can help untangle a perceptual knot ;-)

immediate appeal…draws you in with its sultry beat…evocative words…and that distant singer sounded kinda like Mick Jagger….very nice work Sir Duckett.

Thanks Anchor- I’ve got to give Victor credit for the great drums, I just effected them slightly to fit the track. Also, Mick Jagger would probably love being compared to Sleepy John Estes!

yes sir, digging the tremelo guitar intro with the effected drums. very cool treatment for the spoken word. just completely original, well executed, and a listen that really holds my interest.

There are only two directions we really move in. Up and down!

This is on the uppity up!

Nice drums!

Thanks RT- Although I might have my misses along with a few hits, it’s always good to know when I’ve actually hit the mark (but, like those investment firm adverts say, “Disclaimer: current yields are no guarantee or predictor of future performance” ;-)

Simple, elegant (yes, elegant) and highly effective. Very well done. Perfect fit between pella and accompaniment. You should be very proud of this one.

Thanks essesq- a friend and I were just talking recently about how the more popular works seem to come the easiest. This came together quickly, about the only thing I give myself credit for is attention to mood, and having an occasional ear for unconscious rhythms in spoken-word material.

It’s always good to hear positive words from a sampled artist regarding a remix. Thanks for the spoken-word, and the review!
