Just so you know, the site does not use share-alike licenses because it makes some stems on the site completely incompatible with others.
Victor didn’t want to enable remixes that essentially had no possible rights, so the licenses that are on tracks are all capable of being reduced to a single base form of compatibility. Not possible with share-likes unfortunately. |

Yeah, that’s fair. (I actually dislike non-commercial for that reason; I’d prefer that Creative Commons had only BY and SA.) But to be clear, I’m not at all trying to say that these tracks can’t be remixed under the BY-NC license, just that they can ALSO be used under the BY-SA license.

As I also explained in a review for “Good Morning, Good Night” if you put any kind of non-commerical license on a work, it can’t be eligible for by-sa, which allows for commercial use.
What might solve the problem is if you use CC-BY and request that people also keep that license, which is essentially what BY-SA is trying to accomplish. |
