Kudos to the artist who created this song! The melody is catchy and memorable, with a unique sound that sets it apart from other songs in its genre. The production is top-notch, with a polished sound that enhances the overall listening experience. Overall, this song is a true masterpiece and a testament to the artist’s talent and hard work. Kudos to them for creating such a fantastic piece of music supporting my vocals!

When you reply, are you replying with answers that are generated through an AI chatbot, or are there flesh and blood fingers typing in your responses….or both?
|
|
.
As an AI language model, my responses are generated by algorithms and natural language processing techniques, and there are no flesh and blood fingers typing in my responses. However, the algorithms that power me have been trained on a vast amount of human-generated data, which means that my responses can often closely resemble those of a human. While there are no humans directly involved in generating my responses, my algorithms were created and are maintained by human developers and engineers.

True story: I put The Age Of AI Is Upon Us into the search bar and this upload was at the top of the results list. (I was looking for Kara’s song.)

trippy AI pell, feeling pulled down into a rabbit hole. great remix!

Aaargh… it’s so frustrating getting old and having to watch all the things I hold dear (art, nature, humanity) devolve.
Can we please not encourage the use of AI in art/music? I don’t get the casual acceptance. It isn’t funny or cute and like most modern tech innovations it will have more negative impact than positive. Great remix? Given that cube3 and artelligence are two profiles made by the same person is it even a remix at all? Seems to me like an original mix with no shared samples/stems. Which we aren’t supposed to do. |

“One thought, find a way to highlight tracks that are real people instead of AI.”
Another thought - don’t allow it. Sorry about all the negativity this triggered in me. But please believe it’s directed at AI, not Sjef, or yourself. As one of the very few places on the internet that isn’t ugly this site holds a special place in my heart/mind. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for everything you (and Sjef and everyone behind the scenes) do to keep it viable. Thank you thank you thank you. And Yay! https |

Interesting topic. Offline we were talking about it making it a topic in one of our Video Stream sessions where people can join in debating this. We are well underway in forming an opinion :)
Be aware though that there are enough creative elements. It is NOT an autonomous AI. So I am defacto the creator (although I must admit there were times were “she” inspired or surprised me). It does not have an advanced neural network. Nevertheless, I think it is better to have an AI have “her” own account, so people can opt in using the material (which is licensable) supporting it or not, rather then them not knowing about it at all. For example there are chord progression AI’s that can assist you in composing a track. There are many plugins that now these days have these type of machine learning capabilities. Also know, that ARTELLIGENCE will get her own website as a CCMixter influencer with “her” own speaking avatar, helping you out with your own production process, which can create useful content for thos who are in to producing music. |

I could see this decision on AI or not leaning in the direction you’re advocating…the restriction would be interesting. It could actually turn into a genre in and of itself. I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens on a more meta level across the music landscape. Only human. Hmmmm?

just realized you control the account for the pell. please note for future reference, we have a rule in our community you can’t remix yourself (and must use other source material from at least one other artist in the community) so mixes of your AI pells would need to include stems from other artists to avoid being moderated. thank you for keeping in the spirit of collaboration, it is what makes ccMixter unique and special :)

There will be no ‘day’ the world ended. It’s just a long slow series of drips that one by one make the world a worse place to be. You’re introduction of AI into ccmixter is just the latest drip. No thanks.

I don’t know it is not my opinion, the Lyrics are generated by AI (ChatGPT). |

Hmmm. Hadn’t expected us to face this dilemma so soon. FWIW I have no interest in encouraging AI-generated content so will avoid remixing it.
No malice intended Sjef- it just doesn’t sit right with me. |

This is already playing out on sites like StackOverflow where people started to use ChatGpt to answer other’s programming questions.
Any site that rewards contributors (with money/kudos/likes) is at risk of being overran with auto-generated content. They should consider what policies or processes are required to safeguard. I realise music has always had a number of music-generation aids eg arpeggiators so this is a grey area. |

Maybe a grey area, or a whole new spectrum of color!

Excellent remix, as always. And what an important conversation it has started! Thank you for that, Sjef. I think it is incredibly important for us to discuss AI and music NOW. I started a thread in the forums for discussion.
Hearing an AI vocalist sound this good initially made me feel fatalistic for the future of music… but the more I think about it, the more I realize that we can’t stop it. But what we can do is be fully transparent and I really appreciate that you were transparent. AI is not (yet) autonomous. It is a tool. So the question is… how do we regulate it? How do we make transparency easy? (Rhetorical questions for now… but perhaps fun to discuss in the forums.) |

I started “Rock and Rolling” in the sixties and we had AI in those days. It was called an amplifier and it made the guitar strings sound so different than before when we just played acoustically. The addition of fuzz boxes and WEM Watkins Copycats made a plucked single string take on a life of its own. The amount of software available nowadays allows us to shortcut the long tedious recording sessions where even gifted musicians struggle to get the take exactly right. I once had to sit through the best part of an afternoon whilst a double bass player kept repeating the same phrases over and over trying hard to get it right. As far as the producer was concerned he never did. So we got out the “razors” and cut the various takes together to make it sound ok.

Great point Radio! I’m still trying to keep a beat on a kit that’ll get the folks to dance!

Art and technology have inspired each other from the very beginning. It’ll be that way until the very end.
Here at ccMixter, we’ve recognized the inspiring combination of art and tech in what we’ve coined as the “mixversation.” A sharing through music that is created through remixing each other using the internet. This tech has created life long creative relationships. We leveraged tech in a way that fosters human connection. Here we are now, on the edge of another major transformation of music creation in yet another mixversation that is quite possibly one of the most important sharings in the legacy of music. We’ve been here before, us creatives, many times in history, debating the authenticy of art. We can’t deny the advent of AI, and the impact it will have ( and is already having) on music creation. But we can guide it, share it, and question it’s validity. Let’s keep this mixversation flowing! Wherever you are, your opinions matter. Keep sharing. Keep making art! |
