This one has a powerful beat. The EQ sound levels sound out of whack here. I think that what you need to do is to ensure that you’re not peaking into the red. When I first began posting here, I had this problem all of the time. Sometimes, if your software is not ideal, then you have to resort to simple fixes like making sure that your recording and audio levels are a bit lower on your computer, to help keep things out of the red.

I’d suggest that you try to remix a pure instrumental for now. That’s much easier and in some ways more fun than trying to match up to an a capella track. I find mixing to melodic ‘pellas more challenging, although to some extent that’s a function of one’s approach and one’s favored sound.
