Good job on the high energy mix.

We’re big fans of Big Bad Horns and several dozen other Big Fishes. We used this sample set on Susan’s History and Chemistry.

Sample set still reminds me like Shake a Tail Feather ‘;0)

Big Fish has become my primary wallet killer in the last several months. I’m always afraid the paks I want will go out of print! I hadn’t realised this kit was used elsewhere, so if you want me to add credit, I have absolutley no problems with that. I just listened to your tune, and was quickly enamoured by it. You used it at the original bpm (or close enough to it), giving the vocals a rather nice smokey and sensual feeling to her, whereas I sped them up considerably to give that sense of energy to add to Loveshadow’s solid rock sound.

I plan on using some more of Big Bad Horns in the future… soon, I hope.

I’m happy you enjoyed my tune, it was a labour of love to arrange.

Understand the wallet draining aspect of collecting samples. Even free samples take up disk space and effort (or money) to back up and pull forward across technology upgrades. Our sample library is approaching 2TB. Time for more disk capacity ‘:0)

Understand samples going our of print as well. Had to search hard to find some of our vintage faves. Also, licenses, companies and internet sources change or disappear. Morcheeba freely gave away an album’s worth of vocal stems some years back and now company X or Y is trying to manage the rights no longer given away for free and to seek remedies. Lesson: save all documentation including web pages!

There is no need to cite our use of Big Fish samples on ccmixter. We’ve used too many great Big Fish and Zero-G samples to easily track them all including most of the Big Bad Horn collection.

We don’t cite commercially acquired sample sources because we have paid them once :0) Given our tendency to be crazy and satirical, we sometimes attribute professional studio samples to “Legal and Tender” on drums, “Bay Saint Louis Horns” or “some unknown studio guy”.
