I must preface by saying “Broken” has been remixed a gazillion times, so I am always a little leery of listening to another one- but I’m happy I pressed that “play” button after all.
Suitably massive and precise for this style, the contrast between the heavy-mud-crunch elements and the more ethereal electronic aspects of the source is well balanced, and Mr. Rhone doesn’t neglect the importance of dynamics or arrangement either.

Yeah I’m a little leery of listening to another variant of Trifonic, kind of done to death. Then I read Duckett’s review and decided to give it a chance.

Glad I did. Great wall of guitar thing happening, alternating between straight up metal and power pop. Fits with the vocal in a way that I haven’t heard past versions do.

All goes to show that sometimes an old track’s got new gifts to give.
