Thanks! Yes, visiting family in the US Midwest. No keyboard: drum line laid down on the plane flight out; bass line a labor of MIDI love over 3 nights between visits; piano an agony of loop editing ;-) after. Instruments all NI Komplete thanks to an old recommendation from annabloom. Rough mix played back on the Mac is what I sang over and into my Sony hand recorder in a quiet guest bedroom yesterday. Real musicians might help someday…

You have been and continue to be exemplary for me in my amateur attempts at self expression through song. This is a fantastic piece. So well written, at once affording insight into your being and still being universally relatable. Well, obviously not universally or we wouldn’t be writing songs like this. (If I was a better writer I’d know the right word. Easily?) Plus I love hearing intelligent, thoughtful remarks in a cool jazz setting. ( Like this favorite.)
So… bravo. |
