To take a phrase from Alex ” you framed it nicely”.
I have to admit, i was waiting anxiously to hear your take on this. Very FourPlayish with Nathan on bass and Joe Sample on keys.
Very Nice Work Mate.
Thanks for the Sunday Morning Smile.

Young Master; this is eight and a half kinds of stellar. Your instrumentals bring out the very best of Rebecca’s vocals. Nice, nice work.

You know I’m not sure if I’m mellowing or if you have not just stepped everything up and out of that box.

Your recent material has been a really nice listen but with that something extra that takes it above the normal stream of things.

I do hope this is the case because if I am just mellowing than thats a grave concern for me!!:O)

An overall fanstastic remix! I like very much the fx on the vocals which can be heard so good when you leave a bit space after the “You are..” theme. Very nice and tasty.
You called some of my mixes as sort of “Al Jarreau” feel. It would be great if he would sound like this today. I also hear some influences of Incognito and so much more. Great arrangement, chords and instrumentation. You are a master in this area.

Respect for a completely smooth remix!

Some years ago on last big tour of the UK Al played one stadium that only sold about a 1000 tickets but he still did the gig. They pulled a big curtain beind us to shut off the empty space. I was in the front row and halfway through the gig he sat down on the front of the stage called everyone forward and sang `Mornin’ just 5 feet away from me.

it was an era of talent, music and writing that will never return.

What a great combination… you were one of the first people I thought of when I heard the pella; “Man, I bet LS could do wonders with this!”
And lo- I was right ;-)

Wooo hooo! Ok I am speechless and I wonder if someday I will go to Manderley and meet this Rebecca you are talking about in your title because you are way too generous friend! But, I do want to read this book now.

Ok, Ok, Ok…like I was saying to Jlang I absolutely love your interpretation of this song. The way you rearranged my vocals from the original pella is brilliant and then you rearranged the whole song as well which was fantastic also. The way you matched the keys with the rhythm of my vocals on several sections is also excellent (running out of descriptors)…favorite part is “we can change the way we live…RIGHT OUTLOUD.” (you did the keys well on that part) You brought my vocals up in the track as well which makes my voice sound rich with a little reverb. Thanks for your interpretation and I adore it and I am glad you begged.

I would love to hear your other interpretations from more pellas I plan to post.

I am just excited to get more pellas up to see what all of you peeps on ccmixter can do…this is fun and i am encouraged by all the positive encouragement! I haven’t even been a member for a week…LOL.

A fair few folk have jumped on reblaw’s pella but this is clearly a mile above the rest. If i was an editor, It would be well and truley picked.

I actually started a dance mix and have ditched it after hearing yours :o) Just no point, cuz I’d just get really picky about quality using this as the benchmark and eventually turn to (even more) drink :o)

Not that you need to hear it again, but BRILLIANT

Thanks Scott, but do that mix for Reblaw.

I am grateful for anyone that makes anything with my vocals it gives you more confidence to post more.

And i think we want more from Miss Law.

Wow … this is so tight.
was said before, but should be said again … excellent, excellent chord progression!

If I didn’t know better, I’d say this was a lost track from Lady T.
