It’s a good song! And great mix! I like it from the moment the bass comes in!!! Just great!

Thanks Alex. I am using a weird combo of garageband and ableton right now, but for some reason garageband renders stuff better.

I like what you do kaer, Sometimes i think you have too many ideas when the simpler route is perhaps the one to take.
It takes sometime to get going and then when you get that nice dance hall feel thing going you add another reverby drum line when imho you just dont need it. But keep working it .. i like it and its another for the stable… :-) |
.
I feel happy, about these reviews here tonight. I do know that the simplistic stuff works best, but there is such a rush of chaos (like Durden says below) in my head most of the time, I think I try to mimic this in the mixes. Perhaps I should move to the country….

I like what you do too. You have your own sound. I do kind of which there was a bit more definition in the chord progression. There is a lot of activity in sound washing over other sounds which makes the chords seem less defined. But it could very well be that this is what you were shooting for. What the *#!% do I know!
Good work and keep it up. : ) |
.
umm yes, there is a bit too much wash, I mean I was going for that but ultimately I think it didn’t work. Maybe I listened to My Bloody Valentine and The Mary Chain a bit too much when I was younger.

I liked your remix a lot. I like very much the fact that you did your own mix, not only singing, and you definitively have your own sound.
I think the initial part is very good, the bass and guitar with that percussion, also, you do a great job on the vox melody, that kind of melody never crossed my mind and that’s what I like of this site, this kind of things open my inspirational mind hehe. I think the kind of sound washing over here and over there is a character to your sound. You do chaotic productions and those express very much. A great Job, and I like very much you’ve produced your own sound with my samples. Now I can remix my own song with your pella ;D |
.
I think you understand- total chaos. Thanks.

One of the good things about being human is that at times we are all fallible. Even those who have tons of talent are guilty of taking the wrong road and to be honest I think that’s what you have done here.
There is a lot of good in it but the whole is like the cake that disappoints!! To many ingridients and a faulty oven!! We all do it so no problem. Just fix the oven and bake another gem for us. |
.
You’re sweet. One question though, should I go with the garageband oven???? Or get a new oven, perhaps? It’s funny too, in the summer I switch to a small toaster convection/oven for the cooking here because it is so hot in the apartment.

Garageband is great so I hear. I use Logic Pro and GB is basically its little brother. Just make sure to heat it up before you use it!!:)

I think Kaer is a rookie in the production process (in a good way). She remembers me when I started to do music on a pc, I wanted to put everything on the song, that difficult to do something small or simple, always full of noises and effects, but always something true and from the heart, a very honest music.
There’s a lot to learn about technical issues, but I don’t find this remix so much in the wrong road, obviously there are lots of corrections, but imagine the song well mixed and mastered. By the way I use Fruity, if you’re on a Mac there’s no mac version of fruity, but as a producer I think fruity is great to let you explore your songs, it has a lot of toys to play with, Ableton is not user friendly for me, and I don’t know very much the others, but I find FL very simple to use and user friendly, and is a very professional tool nowadays. I’m using it as a sequencer because I record everything live using vsti and my fx are a third party VST, and I mix in audition, but I know all can be done with the FL plattafrom. Sometimes I play with the daw in live mode and I can last hours tweaking and using midi efects, that gives me so many ideas. Anyway I think the next year I’ll move to Cubase because I’m needing more complicated routing sistems for to feed the sidechains in my fx… |

I like the big build-up and swirling layers. The rhythm make and dynamics make me think of a horseback ride at night through the rain, as the fog grows thicker, and the horse goes faster- an almost delirious mission to reunite memory with destination.

I dig it, girl! “our sutures never sever” is a sweet line. As for the production….these things are easy to pick-apart by the pros….It’s all good; I fly blind too. You have talent and yer quirky; so I say keep it up.

Just to come back on Durdens and your comments re the quality thing.
I personally was not bothered about the sound quality I was talking more about the production choices in the various sounds used. Technically within reason I can live with most things if the musics good and in KT’s case it always is. I am always impressed with KT’s lyrics and vocals and also despite her own concerns re her productions I have found them to be great and to my ears (and I’ve been in the music business over 30 years!!) very professional sounding. This mix just fell short for me but as my recommend shows it still has a lot going for it. |
