Very pretty and contemplative. The drums sometimes feel stiffer than the rest of it, but the guitar work - the octaving on the 12 string - is very pretty.

Hi Bob and thanks for this. I agree about the drums and was in two minds whether or not to strip them out. Would appreciate any advice/feedback from you guys on this—the track holds up OK without them, but I inserted them as a tempo guide for my guitar and, having got used to them, kept them in the final mix. As for the 12-string guitar, I’m actually liking this as a lead instrument. Just for the record, the 6-string was tuned DADGAD and recorded with a condenser mic. The 12-string was plugged straight into the soundcard.

Hi and thanks for this. Mmm, maybe you’ve got a point! I listened again and decided to remove the drums altogether. I uploaded a revised version—hopefully better.

Absolutely beautiful. I didn’t hear the first upload with the drums but I’m pretty sure you made a good choice in removing them.

Hi Speck and thanks for this. Yeah, think I was on “automatic pilot” or something—I used the drums as a tempo guide for the guitar and left them in, thinking they were OK, but actually they weren’t! Needed some feedback—and a little time away from the track—in order to get a more objective appraisal. Thanks again to all for feedback—it helps!

Sigh—lovely I got a quick listen in this morning when the drums where still alive—I didn’t mind them but its true that it is much better without them—thanks again for playing.

Hi and thanks for this. I really enjoyed playing along—great piano and overall vibe in your samples. All the guitar additions I’ve made to your piano pieces were done off-the-cuff, in an attempt to capture something spontaneous, so I think it’s probably right that the VST drums went eventually. Thanks again for great uploads—been a pleasure working with them.

It appears I’m too late in listening to this to comment on ‘Drumgate’ but this is sounding beautiful to me anyway!
