This reminds me quite a bit of John Carpenter. I can see this being quite at home as a guest track on an album or fit neatly into a scene of his movies. There are usually other composers that people typically mention when thinking of “serious” electronic music. For me, John Carpenter and the (unrelated) BBC Radiophonic composers are who comes to mind when I think of “the greats”; you fit right in with this track.
