Reaper, Audacity, freeware VSTs, and a borrowed 1974 Martin 000-28.

Original Samples

All of the electric guitars on this track are from B&G's original "II". Everything else is overdubs.

Process

I started out by importing the stems into Reaper, then started muting things, adding overdubs. For the heavy part of the remix, I took the fuzzed out lead guitar from the original track, sliced it up and layered it to make some really heavy-sounding chords. I got some really helpful feedback and suggestions from B&G and Martin at Headphonica along the way. There were three versions, this is the final one.

Had a lot of fun deconstructing a killer track, by an excellent band, on an excellent label... Thanks guys!
