Samples are used in:

Tools I Used

Orion Pro (what Dynamix II uses!)
Junglist vst plugin
Crystal vst plugin
various reverb/delay plugins

Samples I Used

only one..the guy saying 'time to lay down'...open source sample that's been floating around the web for eons...cant even remember where i got it.

Original Samples

as usual, all beats, sequences, etc put together by me : )

Process

First I came up with the beats in the drum machine. Made some deep massive bass sounds using Junglist, and laid out the drum tracks. Then I added reverb here and there along with some x-delay to fill out the drums and make them 'flow'. Then I fired up Crystal vst synthesizer, and selected a nice high pitched, resonant lead sound to contrast with the bass. When making bass tracks it's important to have crystal clear highs in there to contrast with the bass...makes it sound deeper and harder. Then I laid out a nice fast tempo sequence with that sound and used an LFO oscillator to pan the sound back and forth slowly between right and left channels for some variety. Then finally I added the sampler and that guy saying 'time to lay down'. The sample is actually 'time to lay down some serious sound', but I thought it was cooler if I cut off the last bit and had him say the other. Added alot of X-delay to the sample and some tight room reverb, and turned up the midrange on the EQ, and lowered the bass levels to give it a shrilly, resonant quality. Then I laid out the whole song, tweaked it until it seemed just right, checked all the EQ levels as usual, and rendered it. : )

Other Notes

I LOVE BASS!
