How I Did It
Tools I Used
I used Sytrus, controlled by FL Studio.
Process
The basic kick drum recipe is this: a sine oscillator with a volume envelope and a pitch envelope, with the pitch envelope set to rapidly drop to the base pitch (for the attack), and then slowly drop in pitch during the decay. Once you have all of these elements in place, you'll have something kick-sounding; the rest is just fine tuning, and you can get a very wide variety of kicks by adjusting the various parameters: base pitch, pitch envelope amount, the decay speeds for the various envelopes, the envelope shapes; etc.
This particular kick is the result of a lot of experimentation from having made many kicks using this method. It's a very loud, heavy kick.
