I thought about the first flush of fancying someone and as someone who’s learning how to imagine a different experience for myself, I thought to practice writing and singing affirmatively, as in - how I’d hope things to go.

I’m branching out and growing new ways of being and enjoying the process of making and expression - that I can create from joy too, and strengthen that part of me.

I had to write my usual way, where I had to unleash and kindly unloaded my anxieties and when I noticed and gave them time to tell me what they wanna say - I took the reins and sang a different way.

(The second part is inspired by a love that’s quickly taken away - the backdrop of my brain that I want to heal x)
