I am grateful to the organizers of the Viuex Farka Taure’ remix contest (in which this song is not entered), because the contest caused me to read and learn about the country of Mali, its people and its music. I hope someday to attend a concert in which a kora is played with expertise by a jali, even perhaps to one day own such a fascinating instrument, and perhaps also to wear a mudcloth shirt decorated with a stylish pattern. Kudos to all involved for sponsoring this remix contest and releasing these samples into the Creative Commons.

This remix uses the Sawcutter 2.0 synthesizer to sample four wave samples, including an fx10243 song and a dj_delta riff, to create the working riff here, and also to create the guitar line in the break.
