“Send Me” makes me think of the desert. Perhaps the desert occupies my mind now because our Summer temperatures reach 106 F. (40something C) this year. Perhaps the desert occupies my mind because I bought a book at a bookstore closing sale called “Cacti of Texas”, with lots of photographs.
Perhaps the desert occupies my mind because I imagine a long drive someone must take across the west Texas desert, and having someone look like, like a movie legionaire, and say “Send Me”. So many times we want to be there for the people we know—to help out, to make a difference, send me, send me.

Here the drum sample turned out to be the melody, while the lovely piano sample turned into the percussive effects. This is the way of samplers, which always act with an air of desert mystery, while samples say simply “send me”.
