Secret Mixters are always fun and I’m thrilled to have drawn Abstract Audio. Delving into his material brought me back to my high school days when I was really into the industrial music scene, and I tried to give it my best Trent Reznor when singing this.

I decided to play with “Devil’s Visit” for a couple reasons. One, because AA provided a fully mixed instrumental track to sing against :), and two, I received a spark of inspiration when listening to Panu’s dark, soulful lyrics: What if someone visited the devil and then escaped from hell? How would the devil react? I thought it would be fun to write a song from the devil’s point of view, pleading with that person to come back to hell….

LYRICS

Come back to me
Come back to me
Come back to me
Why’d you have to run away.

You’ve got me running round and round
Where you at?
Running all over town
Where you at?

I’ve got to find you
I need to find you
I wanna find you
I’m gonna find you

Come back to me
Come back to me
Come back to me
Why’d you have to run away.

I’m losing sleep at night.
Want you back.
I need you in my life
Want you back.

I’ve got to find you
I need to find you
I wanna find you
I’m gonna find you

You can’t too far.
I know where you are.

Written from the devil’s point of view, Down With Ben creates an EPIC tale about what happens if a person escapes from hell. Listen to his VOICE! Whoa, baby, WHOA! Feel the devilish passion! The amazing backing track comes from (his Secret Mixter assignment) Abstract Audio’s remix “Devil’s visit”. Down With Ben’s lyrics are a hardy nod to the lyricist and vocalist Panu (the original singer in AA’s “Devil’s visit”). So push play already and get ready for some serious fun!
