The idea came when I thought how it would be for someone falling out with a new love after being caught with someone else and as they apologise they start blaming their lover for the situation and finish by taking back the apology by saying “NOT!”.

I hope you will see the humour in this piece.

Here are the words if you need them:

My Apology by Stephen Wilson

I was thinking of you just the other day
Turned and looked where I lay
Your side of the bed was very bare
Apart from a blond, solitary hair

I looked to my smartphone for some help
But the dog ring tone just would not yelp
Willing it to life is what I do now
So get in touch I’m missing you, I vow

OK, OK it was all down to me
The other in the bed meant nothing you see!
Ok,Ok I was in the wrong
And my apology comes in the form of this song

The drink was the cause I am sure you’ll agree
But what do I do now that will appease
I’ll try to behave with the opposite sex
A saint I am not, so give me some flex

You can’t expect me to change my ways
We’d only been together for a few days
I could understand if it was a year or two
So chill out dear it’s not a big issue.

OK, OK it was all down to me
The other in the bed meant nothing you see!
Ok,Ok I was in the wrong
And my apology comes in the form of this song

So I’m on my knees asking forgiveness
I know you think I’ve been rather reckless
But your at fault for leaving on business
I wouldn’t have needed a bed warming assistant

OK, OK it was all down to me
The other in the bed meant nothing you see!
Ok,Ok I was in the wrong
And my apology comes in the form of this song
And my apology comes in the form of this song…. Not!
