Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they that are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The rest of us are just trying to get through everyday with all our faults and failures and looking for a bit of love.

There’s black in my heart it visited but stayed
It took me a lifetime to get it erased
The toil and the turmoil was often in town
It took many years to bring it all down

And when there was peace the light it shone through
I took it for granted the pain and abuse
Like some orphaned child I held onto the reins
For the horse had once bolted it could do it again

The guilty are crying their innocence slayed
Their plans lay in tatters their hopes now derailed
And the kingdoms are waiting for those who know best
They come to be humble but most fail the test

There are dreams and illusions for those who still care
A chance to be gifted to be well aware
Temptations and secrets kept well out of sight
Its still hard to know what is wrong what is right
