Building A New World
It is the 27 Feb 2022. Russian missiles are still pounding Kyiv and the world looks on. If God does exist he must be sleeping.
We did not know the name of the plant we had inherited from the previous owners of the house. What we did know was that it was dried up and was past its best days. In the hurley burley of moving in, the plant got put down the side of the house and there it remained, alone and unloved and open to the elements. Months passed and whilst other more favoured plants thrived inside in their new home the cracked pot with the withered stems laid on its side undiscovered by us. One day when we had made plans for the side of the house we came upon it again but this time it was alive and the withered stems supported new life. It was not attractive in any way and still hid its origins and name but despite its shabby appearence it now sits on a shelf in the kitchen absorbing the light and the water we give it. It is a survivour and puts into perspective that no matter what step of the evolutionary ladder we humans put ourselves on we are still just one more life form on this planet we call home. I have taken Snowflakes beautiful voice and words and used them to take us down the pathway to the fields of hope, where somewhere beyond this humble existence we forge for ourselves, there is something more meaningful. Thanks to Cadrea for their backing vocals and for allowing me to manipulate them. Afterall manipulation is something we humans have become so adept at. “Om shanti shanti shanti.” Shambhala by Madam Snowflake Where the wind sings a sweet silence Only birds understand And green stretches for miles Sea caresses the sand In a place I can hide Runaway from it all No more crowds, vacant noise Gladly fades to memory Shambhala is waiting There’s a new life Far away from this all Only sound is the voice Of the Mother surrounding me Shambhala is waiting Live the life You imagine Awaken and reawaken Heaven under your feet Oh imagine, just imagine One with nature and science Observing firsthand All my wrongs reconciled Through harmony with the land In a place I can hide Runaway from it all Eden’s a choice Returning with fruit from the tree Shambhala is waiting There’s a true life Far away from this all Endless stars in the void Never cease to astound me Shambhala is waiting Live the life You imagine Awaken and reawaken Heaven under your feet Oh imagine, just imagine I always knew I’d leave one day Ayn Rand showed me the way Wrote myself clues to go back to the garden In my Valhalla There’s a true life Gotta shrug and unplug from it all Now I’ve done what I can With my heart and my hands now knowing Shambhala is waiting Live the life You imagine Awaken and reawaken Heaven under your feet Oh imagine, just imagine Living life in peace With a dreamer just like me Heaven over our heads also under our feet Oh Imagine, just imagine I always knew I’d leave one day For my Shambhala
