From The Folks On The Street
It is estimated that in the UK alone there are 5,000 people sleeping rough on the streets of our towns and cities. It is a national disgrace and made worse when it is also estimated that 320,000 people are homeless and only a few steps away from joining them.
Its a scene from before one that always endures Despite all the good words we still search for the cure I wish you could feel our heartache x 3 As we live our poor lives But despite all the words still nothing is heard We are easily forgotten and passed by and cursed Now you make think we’re making ends meet x 3 But the truth is we’re not The Big Issue can help and for that we give thanks But the world needs to care more and give something back Well I wish you could see the silence feel the pain and the violence All the acts that remind us we are all on our own We still wish you a merry xmas We still wish you a merry xmas We wish you a merry xmas from the folks on the streets.
