Gimin
My way of paying respect to a great man, Tada Kasuke. During the rule of the Tokugawa Shogunate, he dared to make an appeal to the magistrate’s office to lower the abominable tax rate on local farmers. It resulted in the execution of 28 farmers, including Kasuke and 2 of his sons (12 and 10).
Legend has it that his last outcry was so powerful, it shook the foundation of Matsumoto Castle, causing it to lean and nearly topple.

Editorial pickNethis’ tribute to Tada Kasuke is a beautiful example of the ability of music to express a time, a spirit and an intention. This powerful cinematic mix uses drums, strings and modes of the Orient to remind us that the voice against oppression can shake foundations. SackJo22
