I’ve posted two remixes here on mixter, the first had input available for the type of license, the second escaped me.
I see most artists with several tunes up display both listings as needed.
Can I change the current listing of SP on an existing remix to NCSP?
I don’t see how it happened, or how to correct it, but then it was 4 in the morning when I loaded the second…
Thanks.

(Sorry abut that this one slipped by me.)

When you upload an original piece of music you can choose the license.

When you upload a remix (or attach it later to a source) you ‘inherit’ the strictest license in the remix tree.

Changing the license of a work that uses pieces of others is known as ‘downstream re-licensing’ and is the topic of hot debate on CC mailing lists as we speak.

At this site I’ve opted to sit out the debate, do that safe thing as prescribed above and wait to see how it all falls out before I start coding anything else.

eh, before you bust me on not really answering your actual question:

I guess we could make it so that if there is a stricter license available (like NC in this case) we could open it up again and let you decide.

Let me know if this is important and I’ll see how much work it would be to make that happen.
