This style of playing is reminiscent of the way we played and recorded in the 1980s. Lots of MIDI tracks and guitars. The MIDI tracks on this song were created over 20 years ago, we recorded live tracks in 2007. Added Ghost_K last week.

Adaptation, very personal. Really a style that sticks well, and that you control with brio… Excellent.

Thanks, V

This song is more personal and contains fewer sampled sounds than most of our uploads.

Grazie per le risposte positive, Dice.

The brass is MIDI driven Soundfonts. We created this song before we started using audio samples of horns and horn sections.

LOL … yeah, y’all are well integrated into the drum/percussion section.

I find it a drag when I can’t hear how mixters and video makers sample our work.

We used a 2 bar sample from loopyloo. I uploaded the sample to http://ccmixter.org/content... so you can hear it.

There are two drum rhythms in this song. Your sample is mixed with the first drum rhythm and kicks in both times when the lead synth plays with the lead guitar (first time bar 12). You should be able to hear and feel the difference in the percussive rhythm when Ghost_K is playin’ with the band.

The 2 bar sample plays on top of the second drum rhythm (whenever the horns are playing) which is harder to feel because it is ever present, enhances the drums differently and there is no contrast to help you notice. If we deleted your sample over the second drum rhythm you would notice a drop in the percussive high end and the energy.

We were able to improve the underlying rhythm using 2 bars from your construction kit.

Just like you guys are in our band!!

There is background noise in the sample that would have rendered the sample unusable in a subtle song, but, with all the noise we make, y’all fit right in ‘:0)

I am assuming you mean the young Diana Riggs as she’s 73 now

Thanks for stopping by, LS

Don’t know how old Diana Riggs is but we like her voice.

Diana Rigg is 73 and we still love her. She was the hottest TV action hero of my childhood.

Rockin’ hard to be sure! My only very minor quibble would be that there’s a lot going on “up front” in the 5-10 kHz range, so some of the fuzz and splash loses its punch at times.

You are too kind, D. The midrange overload in this song is more than a minor quibble. However, we decided against due diligence after working all day and then drinking and eating way too much before mixing. This is song is clearly a victim of hobby shop producers and audio engineers with lovin’ on their minds. We should fire those guys! “:0)
