Is there a limit to your talent? I have no words to express my feeling for that piece.

I hope this is a double album. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed everything so far.

We have to learn to forgive ourselves, even when others don’t, or can’t.

5 years ago, I promised a friend I’d help him write a love song for his wife. I agreed, but procrastinated, because it wasn’t a top priority for me.

He died.

She’ll never hear it, and I’m the reason. It was only in the last couple of weeks I forgave myself, so thanks for this simple, reflective song about that very topic - its very timely to me.

you have this way of making me cry good admiral. thank you for sharing this story. funny how music can make us feel less alone. thanks for the remix too - amazing.

i have three more songs to share for Open - one i recorded two nights ago and am just cleaning up the vocal before uploading. i guess it is a double album! thanks for your support and encouragement. :)

Tender. True to heart. Authentic. And as always, your voice, singing and musicianship are gorgeous.

Your words reflect such a truth… one with which I am sure most can relate. But it’s your approach to the subject that reels me in… hope… wisdom…

Set it all free, you hold the key
Set yourself free, what will be will be

I can see myself in both perspectives. That is great songwriting.

Your voice is gorgeous and emotionally compelling as usual… and your piano such a perfect accompaniment.

How many songs will be on ‘Open’?

kara - you are a kindred soul. thank you for understanding me. there are three more songs i have to post for Open (two more to record) - One Way, Rise and Brother John. then i move into mastering mode (and retracking a couple early vox) with basematic and abstract audio. they are both helping me with production and mastering of the album. how lucky am i?

Exciting. Thank you for the album update. basematic and abstract audio- quite the production/ mastering team! Right on! I love your approach to this album… songs, remixes, production. Will you be releasing a remix album with the final mastered album? (I’m full of questions, eh?)

Thanks for sharing with us this wonderful song (full of feelings and experiences).
You will have many excellent remixes (mine too of course).
But this naked version, only with a delicate piano is totally authentic.
An absolute musical delicatessen.

I can truly feel the pain of this piece. Beautifully played and conveyed. This is a rare gem.

thank you. yes, it is very painful when someone won’t forgive you after more than 10 years of apology, and instead, they continue to be filled with hate and revenge. i’m blessed i can release the pain through music, and that you understand.

Damn Emily, this is stunning!!! I loved your pell on alex remix but this is something diffrent. I think my favourite from you (and proberbly from ccM) I’ve heard so far.

Altough I feel sligthly annoyed by the fact that this kind of music is out of my region and I can’t work with this pella :)

A stunning recording and I’m looking forward to join forces again on this album.
