We have to learn to forgive ourselves, even when others don’t, or can’t. 5 years ago, I promised a friend I’d help him write a love song for his wife. I agreed, but procrastinated, because it wasn’t a top priority for me. He died. She’ll never hear it, and I’m the reason. It was only in the last couple of weeks I forgave myself, so thanks for this simple, reflective song about that very topic - its very timely to me.

But it’s your approach to the subject that reels me in… hope… wisdom… Set it all free, you hold the key Set yourself free, what will be will be I can see myself in both perspectives. That is great songwriting. Your voice is gorgeous and emotionally compelling as usual… and your piano such a perfect accompaniment. How many songs will be on ‘Open’?
	. permalink Snowflake Thu, May 12, 2011 @ 9:20 AM kara - you are a kindred soul. thank you for understanding me. there are three more songs i have to post for Open (two more to record) - One Way, Rise and Brother John. then i move into mastering mode (and retracking a couple early vox) with basematic and abstract audio. they are both helping me with production and mastering of the album. how lucky am i?

You will have many excellent remixes (mine too of course). But this naked version, only with a delicate piano is totally authentic. An absolute musical delicatessen.
