Pretty impressive stuff. Especially considering that you were reluctant to work with Frank’s pella only a couple of hours before uploading this (at least, according to your comment on Loveshadow’s version).

Franks vocal is so full of emotion and is such a wonderful take on this song that I knew I had to do something with it. I did feel it had a wandering tone that needed to be followed in some way. LS pointed out to me that the vocal was sung to a fixed tempo and I’m sure he is right but I still wanted to have some varying interplay with the backing track and the vox for me needed that.

Magnatune has some great work by unknown (to me anyway) artists and Ishwish have been on my Ipod for some time. When panu commented on LS’s mix about the origin of the song it brought to my mind vivid pictures of the sea, the enslaved people on board yet a fierce belief that hope would prevail.

Christopher and Beth’s magnificent music fitted my idea and Frank’s vox blended with it to fulfill my desire for what the mix had to be for me.

The mix is from what I call my two track lap top songs and just fell together in about 20 minutes. Hardly any processing just a little tweak with Waves here and there. This for me was all it needed.

I can hardly believe you could put Frankie’s a-capella on top of that incredible ishwish ambient morning star and fit it so well. You have ears to mix and put together in ways that one cannot even figure out, that’s a gift! You know I listen to each and every song in this new remixes page, well I’m happy that I see an ed pick here.
