Tenny, first of all, I love what you’ve done with this - a very clever, glittering, round-and-round backing track. Second, thank you so much for what you’ve written about my a cappellas. You’ve certainly brightened up my Sunday night. xxxx

There is a certain lyrical and melodic irony between the lyric, vocal and melody that you reiterate so well with the music which is simple, clean and direct with a lightheartedness that belies the existential musings of the lyric.

Thanks for the comment SackJo! I agree that there is a subtle irony in the upbeat nature of my mix and the certain downtrodden message of the lyrics. To me when I hear this song it is all about a half empty/half full paradox. I guess my accompaniment says that I see it more half full.

I like this a lot. The refrain is a killer - really like the light pop sensibility you’ve brought to it.

Good call on the vocal treatment - I think it’s the right choice here.

I’m flattered you’d listen to my suggestions - but at the same time you would do very well to ignore whatever I say and stick with your gut feeling. :)

Sometimes good pop can sound so easy but I’m pretty sure you’ve spent a lot of time with this one.
Nevertheless, it’s lovely.

A lot of time was spent indeed. I spent the most time on the chorus, looping it over and over hundreds of times even going back for multiple days until I got just the right feel.
