Songbird is a new media player written on the same platform as Firefox, that “plays the web”, as they put it.

I find this quite interesting: you can point it to ccmixter.org and it will display all the mp3s it finds on the page in some kind of playlist. You can double click on a song to start it playing, and you can surf on while listening.

It’s still in the alpha stage, but I find it an interesting concept.
