The coolest music player for ‘nix is Amarok (pronounced “Am A Rock”). Now comes word that they are looking for a theme song that plays the first time the program is run (no more than 30 seconds). The only requirement is that you use samples from the Magnatune sample pool somewhere in the Amarok theme.

Singers and rappers are welcome to mention the name of the product but instrumentals are ok too.

Please use the ‘Amarok Theme’ submit form so they can track the uploads.

Also, take note of the following licensing information:

- Typical Linux license is Attribution-ShareAlike (by-sa)

- Typical Magnatune License is Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (by-nc-sa)

- Typical behavior for ccMixter is that your remix automatically inherit the sample’s license - in this case: by-nc-sa

- Magnatune has waived the ‘NonCommercial’ part of the license for this one case.

SO that means you have to waive it also (!) and even though your upload will say by-nc-sa , the upload used by Amarok will be released under by-sa.
